In the brain, the excessive norepinephrine and epinephrine nervous action can constantly switch the autonomic nervous function from the parasympathetic mode to the sympathetic mode to burn your energy and exhaust your body. If there is excessive binding of norepinephrine and epinephrine into the alpha-2 receptors, it results to constriction of the blood vessels (poor blood circulation), eye pupil over-dilation (like a dying person, eye over-sensitive to light) , COX-2 and Protein Kinase C (PKC) over-expression, and COX-1 under-expression for brain/nervous disorders/body pains/ eye floater (blurred vision)/sinus/earring aches. The main concern is the excessive epinephrine (adrenalin) in the brain and bloodstream. An excessive dopamine-norepinephrine conversion for a excessive level of norepinephrine, as a result of frequent sexual arousal or orgasm or excessive sex, can trigger excessive norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion for a constantly excessive adrenalin (epinephrine) level in the bloodstream. AANAT is responsible for the conversion of serotonin to melatonin. An AANAT gene expression disorder results in the serotonin-melatonin conversion disorders and thus, sleeping disorder. AANAT is the key enzyme in the biosynthesis of melatonin in the pineal gland and retinal photoreceptors. Rhythmic AANAT activity drives rhythmic melatonin production in these tissues for a good sleep and parasympathetic nervous recharging, that includes shrinking your eye pupil back! When there is excessive norepinephrine and epinephrine or a lack of serotonin in your pineal gland and retina, AANAT can not express properly and convert serotonin into melatonin. The expression of AANAT gene in pineal gland is regulated by a photoneural (retinal) system that acts through the sympathetic adrenergic-cAMP-related mechanisms (with a moderate norepinephrine level as described above) in pinealocytes with concomitant stimulation by norepinephrine of sympathetic nervous beta-1 and alpha-1 receptors, in a mechanism of "AND gate" activation, but disabled by excessive norepinephrine and epinephrine of sympathetic nervous alpha-2 receptors. When your bloodstream contains excessive norepinephrine and epinephrine with a high lack of prolactin due to over-masturbation/over-ejaculation or excessive orgasm, the AAANAT gene become under-expressed and you are in sleeping disorder. The most severe condition for chronic sleeping disorder (AANAT gene disorder) is due to an excessive epinephrine level with a lack of dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin in the brain while there is an excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion anytime.
